There’s something profound about watching hope become reality. Earlier in my career, I worked in oncology research, supporting phase I clinical trials for investigational therapies—treatments that, at the time, were just possibilities. I remember the hope we carried in those early trials: hope that what we were testing could one day make a real difference. Today, I see that difference unfold in real time. The same drugs we administered in tightly controlled research settings have now become part of everyday cancer treatment regimens—and we are seeing truly positive outcomes for patients.
That journey from possibility to practice is part of what drew me to healthcare in the first place: a deep compassion for people and a desire to show up for them at one of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. That commitment hasn’t wavered—and it’s what grounds my work every day now that I’m at Reimagine Care.
Meeting Patients Where They Are—Literally and Emotionally
Cancer changes everything. Patients are asked to navigate new diagnoses, complex treatments, side effects, financial stress, and fear—all while trying to hold onto the rhythms of everyday life. For those in active treatment, the experience can feel overwhelming and isolating. That’s where Reimagine Care’s mission comes into focus. We’re rethinking where and how oncology care happens—extending care beyond the hospital or clinic and into the home, where patients are most comfortable.
Through our Virtual Care Center, we combine compassionate, oncology-trained nurses with intelligent, real-time technology to support patients 24/7. We serve as an extension of their existing oncology team, providing timely, informed guidance that helps manage side effects, prevent complications, and offer reassurance when it’s needed most. Before I communicate with a patient, I review their chart, understand their treatment plan, and prepare to provide personalized support that addresses their needs at that moment. Patients don’t have to repeat their story or wonder if someone on the other end truly understands what they’re going through—we do.
The Human Connection Behind Every Call
Every patient I speak with is facing something unique. Their concern—whether big or small—is always meaningful, because it affects how they feel, how they cope, and how they heal. At Reimagine Care, we don’t just return texts and calls. We listen. We educate. We walk with patients through symptoms they don’t fully understand and emotions they may not yet have words for.
What makes this work so personally rewarding is knowing I’m making a difference for someone facing challenges that are as mental and emotional as they are physical. For many patients, knowing there’s a nurse who can pick up an interaction initiated after engaging with our AI, Remi – someone who knows their name and understands their care plan – makes all the difference in the world.
Transforming the Future of Oncology Care
Reimagine Care is changing what cancer care can look like. We’re proving that virtual-first, home-centered oncology isn’t just possible—it’s powerful. By supporting patients in real time and in real life, we’re helping prevent unnecessary ER visits, improve adherence, reduce anxiety, and foster deeper trust between patients and their care teams.
I’m proud to be part of that change. Every interaction I have is an opportunity to restore clarity in a confusing moment, comfort in a frightening one, and connection in a system that too often feels impersonal. That’s why I choose this work. That’s why I choose to reimagine cancer care—every single day.
